10 Key Accessories: Spring/Summer 2016

Statement Earrings
Earrings are set to go supersize this season with shoulder-brushing lengths creating a statement. From poms to chains, styles were varied across the catwalk making this trend easy to incorporate into any look.

 Marni, Alexander Wang, Prada

Chunky Sandals
This spring/summer sees the return of the chunky sandal. Thick soles as standard, black is the key colour with chain and stud details adding a grunge twist to the look.

 Fendi, Burberry Prorsum, Philipp Plein

Hair Jewels
Jewellery boxes are set to increase in size as hair jewellery becomes key. From tiaras to grunge inspired chain alice bands, this season's key hair styles require some bling.

 Chanel, Rodarte, Saint Laurent

Neck Details
This season's key neckwear style is the choker and it is all about big, statement pieces.

 Loewe, Lanvin, Valentino

Clear Accessories
Translucent PVC was the surprise accessory trend of the season. From shoes to handbags to hats, the see-through styles are the key statement for spring/summer.

 Chanel, Maison Margiela, Loewe

Chain Detail Bags
The pom was pushed aside this season as chains become the key bag accessory. From chunky chain handles to chains draped all over, bags have toughened this season.

 Alexander Wang, Marni, Calvin Klein

Body chains
Body chains are the perfect jewellery piece for every spring/summer and the catwalks introduced a variety of new shapes, lengths and statement styles.

 Calvin Klein, Alexander McQueen, MGSM

Often a style left for the older generation, brooches are set to transform pieces. Key ways to wear are single statement brooches worn traditionally on the lapel of a blazer and simpler styles on the collar or neck of a shirt.

Dries Van Noten, Marc Jacobs, Rochas

Colour Pop Bags
This season's bags are not for blending into the background with bright colour clashes and eye-catching prints creating a talking point for any outfit.

 Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Prada

Lace-Up Shoes
A key detail seen across a range of footwear styles on the catwalk was the lace-up finish. From a simple ankle tie on ballerina pump to full lace up fastening on a kitten heel, no matter the style a lace is key.
